Starting with the basics. Who, what and why.
Surfing enthusiasts worldwide face challenges with inaccurate surf forecasts, impacting their surfing experiences and wasting time traveling.
Wave Watch caters to surfers seeking reliable wave forecasts and scientists interested in ocean data for research purposes.
The project aims to fill the gap in surf forecasting by offering personalized insights and contributing valuable data to scientific communities.
Proposed Solution
Post-Surf Survey Integration:
Surfers provide data through post-surf session surveys, refining forecasts based on individual preferences. They also give observable data of the beach and sea wildlife. With the latest smartwatches, surfers will be able to track their surf session and take the water temperature of the coastline, which will all be uploaded to the Open-Source Webpage
Open-Source Webpage Benefits:
All post surf survey data reports are accessible via the open-source webpage, supporting scientific research and public access.
Conceptual Framework:
Wave Watch evolved from a communication platform to a sophisticated tool for personalized surf forecasting.
